‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation drive launched in Deoghar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Deoghar Nagar unit has launched, a city-wide tree plantation campaign titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” from World Environment Day (June 5) to International Yoga Day (June 21).
Under this campaign, saplings will be planted in every ward of Deoghar. The drive began on 6 June 2026 with the planting of a Banyan tree at Punsia Pokhra by senior BJP leaders and workers.
Nagar President Sonadhari Jha appealed to the residents of Deoghar to actively participate in the initiative.
“Every family member should come together and plant at least one tree in the name of the head of their family. This will ensure that our coming generations do not face any environmental crisis. We must plant trees under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and also take responsibility to protect them,” he said.
The programme was attended by prominent BJP workers including Meena Jha, Rinku Singh, Neeraj Thakur, Ashok Mohli, Raju Kesari, Supriya Gupta, Kumar Saurabh, Dilraj Kumar, Mannu Raut, Mithilesh Jha, Puja Devi, Ashok Verma and others.
