An FIR has been registered against Vinay Vishwakarma at the Patan police station in Palamu, and an investigation has been initiated, following a case involving the posting of derogatory and objectionable content against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on social media. The police have arrested the accused.
A formal complaint regarding this matter was submitted by Umashankar Singh (Block President) and Ranjeet Singh (Secretary) of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), both residents of Palhe Kala village within the Patan police station area. They submitted a written application to the police demanding legal action.
The complainants stated that on August 11, around 10:00 AM, while scrolling through WhatsApp and Facebook on their mobile phones, they came across a highly objectionable post. The post used extremely foul and derogatory language against Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The JMM workers stated that the accused, through the social media post, alleged the Chief Minister’s involvement in the JPSC examinations, questioning why a CBI inquiry into the JPSC matter was not being ordered if no wrongdoing had occurred. The post reportedly claimed that such posts would continue on social media until a CBI inquiry into the examinations was conducted. They added that a photograph of Chief Minister Hemant Soren had also been misused in the post.
Umashankar Singh alleged that such posts have severely damaged the Chief Minister’s political and public image, causing immense outrage and concern among JMM supporters and the general public.
Singh further stated that an investigation revealed the post was made by Vinay Vishwakarma, son of Nandkishore Vishwakarma, a resident of Gahar Pathra village under the Patan police station area. The accused was allegedly using a specific mobile number to spread chaos and hatred in society via social media.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the Patan police took immediate action. A case has been registered based on the complainants’ application and the attached screenshots. Suresh Kumar Mandal, the Police Inspector of the Patan circle, has been entrusted with the responsibility of investigating the entire case. The police have arrested the accused and are engaged in gathering technical evidence.
