Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has launched “Sangachchhadhwam 2026 – United Utilities, Uncompromised Safety”, a Utilities Safety Fortnight aimed at strengthening safety awareness and collective responsibility among employees and contract workers.
The initiative is being jointly organised by the Civil Engineering Department (CED), Water Management Department (WMD), Gas Utility (GU) and Air Conditioning & Ventilation System (ACVS) under the Utilities division. The programme was inaugurated by the Executive Director (Works) in the presence of senior officials, including the Chief General Manager (Utilities) and Chief General Manager (Safety & Fire Services).
As the first activity, a human chain was formed along Plant Plaza Road to promote road safety awareness. A large number of officers, employees and contract workers participated, carrying banners and raising slogans urging strict adherence to road safety rules. The initiative highlighted the message of unity and shared responsibility for preventing accidents.
The Executive Director (Works) called upon employees to strictly follow prescribed safety standards and remain vigilant and committed to achieving the ‘Zero Harm’ goal, stressing that safety is a collective responsibility.
The fortnight will feature several activities, including safety quizzes, street plays, safety wall art and drawing, toolbox talks and a Line of Fire Challenge. ‘Sangachchhadhwam’, meaning “walk together and move forward together”, seeks to make safety an integral part of everyday work culture rather than merely a matter of compliance.
