The CID Special Court on Monday heard the bail pleas of Abhay Tiwari and his brother Akshay Tiwari, who are currently lodged in jail in connection with the alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination.
During the hearing, the court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to produce the case diary. The bail pleas will be taken up again after the case diary is submitted.
Abhay Tiwari, alleged to be a key accused in the JSSC-CGL irregularities case, was arrested by the CID last month. He was initially arrested in connection with CID Case No. 16/2026 related to alleged irregularities in a JPSC examination and was subsequently arrested in Case No. 1/2025 concerning irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination.
His brother Akshay Tiwari was arrested by the CID earlier this month in connection with the same JSSC-CGL case. Abhay Tiwari’s wife, Sushma Tiwari, has also been arrested and sent to judicial custody in the case.
The court has fixed September 5 for hearing Abhay Tiwari’s bail plea after the CID submits the case diary. In the case of Akshay Tiwari, the next hearing has been scheduled for September 3.
The CID is investigating the alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination under Case No. 1/2025. The probe has led to the arrest of several accused and is continuing to establish the alleged network involved in the examination-related irregularities.
