Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Saturday felicitated 54 students with certificates upon completion of a six-day Civil Defence training programme at the Collectorate Auditorium.
Addressing the participants, Jha said that service and training are essential for building a responsible society. He noted that while many people are willing to help during emergencies, the lack of proper training often limits their effectiveness.
Highlighting the importance of Civil Defence training, he said it helps develop confidence, a spirit of service, and practical skills required during disasters and accidents. Trained individuals can provide crucial first aid and rescue support during the initial stages of an emergency, when timely intervention can save lives.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the students to share their knowledge with others and help create a larger network of trained citizens. He also directed officials to organize similar training programmes in all blocks of the district.
Participants shared their experiences during the programme. Several district officials, including District Planning Officer Raj Sharma, attended the event.
