Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday visited the historic Solahbhuji Maa Deori Temple in Tamar along with his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren, where the couple offered prayers and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.

The Chief Minister and MLA Kalpana Soren performed traditional rituals at the renowned Shaktipeeth and paid obeisance before the deity in accordance with local customs and religious practices. The worship ceremony was conducted amid Vedic chants by temple priest Manoj Panda and chief Pahan Sukhram, who officiated the rituals.

During the visit, the Chief Minister prayed for the happiness, progress, and overall development of Jharkhand and its residents. The temple, located in Tamar block near Ranchi, is one of the state’s most revered places of worship and attracts devotees from across Jharkhand and neighbouring regions.

News of the Chief Minister’s arrival drew a large number of villagers and devotees from nearby areas to the temple premises. People appeared enthusiastic and eager to greet him, creating a vibrant atmosphere around the shrine. Many local residents gathered to catch a glimpse of the Chief Minister and interact with him during the visit.

Speaking after offering prayers, Soren highlighted the importance of preserving Jharkhand’s rich cultural and religious traditions. He said the state’s diverse heritage forms an integral part of its identity and continues to unite people across communities.

“Jharkhand’s rich cultural and religious heritage is our identity. The famous Maa Deori Temple is an important centre of faith for devotees. Visiting the temple premises fills one with positive energy,” the Chief Minister said.

The Deori Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga in her Solahbhuji (16-armed) form, holds immense spiritual significance and is considered one of the most prominent religious destinations in the state. It is especially known for attracting devotees during major festivals and auspicious occasions.
