BJP Opens Front Against Congress Over Its Remarks
Together for power, but after defeat RJD and CPI(ML) become traitors and corrupt: Pratul Shah Deo
Congress’s shameless double standards and opportunistic politics exposed
Power-hungry Congress abandoned its old ally DMK overnight to secure its political survival
Bjp Jharkhand Chief Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo said that after suffering a humiliating defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections, the frustration within Congress has now spilled out into the open. He said that Congress in-charge K. Raju branding alliance partners as corrupt and dishonest, and Congress MLA Suresh Baitha calling them traitors, clearly shows that the party has failed to come to terms with its defeat and is now trying to shift the blame for its own failures onto others.
Pratul remarked sarcastically whether Congress in-charge K. Raju has acquired the divine vision of Sanjay from the Mahabharata, as he seems to have seen even the votes cast by legislators belonging to other parties. He said Congress owes an explanation to the people of Jharkhand and the country as to how parties like RJD and CPI(ML), with whom it enjoyed power, ran governments, fought elections and reaped political benefits for years, have suddenly become corrupt, dishonest and traitorous in its eyes. If they were indeed so unreliable, why did Congress share power with them? And if they were not, why is the party displaying such political bankruptcy by levelling these charges after its defeat?
Pratul said this has always been Congress’s political character. Allies remain respectable as long as power is assured, but the moment Congress faces a setback, it starts throwing mud at its own partners. This is the same Congress which, in its desperation to remain politically relevant, abandoned its long standing and trusted ally DMK overnight and chose to align with TVK for political convenience.
Pratul said that by blaming others for its own failures and refusing to accept responsibility has always been part of Congress’s political culture. The Rajya Sabha defeat has exposed both the frustration and arrogance of the party. The people are watching closely. A party that cannot respect its own allies can hardly be expected to respect the trust and mandate of the people.
