The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and forensic teams visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) state office in Nivaranpur on Monday to investigate a petrol bomb attack that occurred on June 16 midnight.
On Monday, the ATS team visited the RSS office and inspected the scene. Officials are investigating based on evidence collected at the scene, technical information, and input from the arrested accused. It is noteworthy that on the night of June 16, the RSS office in Nivaranpur, under the jurisdiction of the Chutia police station, was attacked with petrol bombs. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
On Monday, ATS officials inspected the scene and analyzed the attack method, the means used, and the activities of the accused. The attack on the RSS office and the investigation’s indications of a foreign network have raised concerns about security. Currently, the ATS is coordinating with the Ranchi police and other intelligence agencies to advance the investigation, and significant revelations are expected in the coming days.
The Ranchi police have arrested three persons for allegedly hurling ‘petrol bombs’ at the RSS office in Ranchi with one of them suffered bullet injuries in a gunfight while trying to escape from police custody. The three arrested include Saif Ansari alias Rohit, Aman Ansari and Sayan Khan.
Saif managed to escape from the Kotwali police station lock-up on Thursday afternoon by breaking a window—an incident that was captured on CCTV. Following his escape, the police formed multiple teams to track him down. He was later apprehended near the Mandar toll plaza while attempting to flee by bus. While the police were bringing him back, he allegedly tried to snatch a weapon from the officers and escape. The police retaliated, resulting in him being shot in the leg.
The attack on the RSS office has been linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, and the terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTH). Initial investigations have revealed that the attack was planned in Dubai. Aman Ansari was selected for the attack by Shahbaz Alam, alias Bhatti, and Aavish Rajput, alias Rana Ji. Initially, there was a plan to bring weapons from Punjab and attack Ranchi, but Aman Ansari told investigating agencies that he couldn’t find them due to intensive border searches. Then, a plan was made to attack the RSS office in Ranchi with petrol bombs by showing a photograph of the RSS office.
