Skill Development push gains momentum in Pakur

June 24, 2026

In a major push for skill development and employment generation, BGR Mining and Infra Pvt. Ltd. on Wednesday launched new training programmes at its BGR Skill Development Centre in Amrapara. The courses include mobile repairing, electrician training and a modern dumper simulator programme. The facility was inaugurated by Amrapara Circle Officer Ausaf Khan and Block Development Officer Pramod Kumar Gupta.

The centre has been conducting courses in basic computer operations, tailoring and embroidery, and LMV driving. With the addition of mobile repairing and electrician training, local youth are expected to gain better employment and self-employment opportunities.

Certificates were distributed to successful trainees of the fifth and sixth batches during the programme. To encourage women’s self-reliance, 64 sewing machines were handed over to students who completed the tailoring and embroidery course.

A major attraction was the introduction of the dumper simulator, which allows trainees to learn the operation of heavy mining dumpers in a safe virtual environment. The system helps participants gain practical skills and understand safety procedures before handling actual machinery.

Addressing the gathering, the Circle Officer and BDO stressed the importance of skill-based education in today’s competitive job market and urged young people to make full use of such opportunities.

Sanjay Besra, General Manager (CSR) of BGR Mining and Infra Pvt. Ltd., said that while the company could not provide jobs to everyone, it was committed to enhancing the employability of local youth through skill development initiatives. He reiterated the company’s focus on promoting self-reliance.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Dilip Taman, Vice President of Shar Projects Pvt. Ltd., P.V. Shiva Chandra and Mesa Ravindra, along with company representatives, trainees and local residents.
