Police and district authorities on Saturday launched a major action against notorious gangster Prince Khan in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad, initiating demolition proceedings at his residence with bulldozers under a joint administrative operation.
A large contingent of police personnel was deployed at the site to maintain law and order during the demolition drive. The area was heavily barricaded, and additional security forces were stationed to prevent any untoward incident as officials began the process of razing the structure.
According to police officials, the action is being carried out strictly in accordance with legal procedures. However, the district administration has not yet issued a detailed official statement regarding the demolition campaign.
The crackdown comes a day after Prince Khan allegedly threatened Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee. According to police sources, the gangster demanded extortion money from the legislator and allegedly warned him to pay within 24 hours, threatening serious consequences if the demand was not met.
Following the alleged threat, the police and district administration intensified their action against the absconding gangster. Officials indicated that the demolition drive forms part of the broader crackdown on his criminal network and illegal assets.
Security arrangements remained tight throughout the operation, with senior police officers monitoring the situation on the ground. Authorities said the deployment was aimed at ensuring that the demolition was completed peacefully and without disruption.
Prince Khan has been on the run for several years and is wanted in multiple cases, including extortion, criminal intimidation, and organized crime. Police have been conducting sustained operations against his associates and financial network in recent months.
The demolition operation was still underway at the time of filing this report. Officials said a detailed statement on the action and its legal basis is expected to be issued after the operation concludes.
