The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday held a state-level review workshop at Congress Bhavan to assess the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and review field-level monitoring of the campaign.
The meeting was chaired by state Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh and attended by AICC permanent invitee and Jharkhand in-charge K. Raju, along with AICC secretaries and state co-incharges Dr. Siribela Prasad and Bhupendra Maravi. Several Congress MLAs, including Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav and deputy leader Rajesh Kachhap, were also present.
Addressing party workers, K. Raju directed district presidents, Assembly in-charges and Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) to work closely with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the voter verification drive. He asked them to assist citizens in filling enumeration forms correctly and ensure that any discrepancies in the electoral rolls are promptly brought to the notice of election officials.
Keshav Mahato Kamlesh stressed that no eligible voter’s name should be omitted from the electoral rolls during the revision process. He also instructed party leaders to strengthen grassroots monitoring through regular meetings.
The Congress leadership said the SIR campaign should be conducted transparently and effectively while ensuring maximum voter participation. Leaders also discussed preparations for future elections and urged workers to actively raise public issues, including unemployment, inflation and paper leak cases, during their outreach programmes.
