Jharkhand’s innovative bamboo-based lifestyle products continued to draw widespread attention on the third day of Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with bamboo-clad stainless-steel bottles and mugs emerging as crowd favourites among domestic and international buyers, industry representatives and visitors.
The four-day global textile and handicrafts exhibition, being held from July 14 to 17, has provided Jharkhand with an opportunity to showcase its rich craftsmanship and sustainable innovations. The products, displayed at the state’s pavilion, combine traditional bamboo craftsmanship with modern technology, offering an environmentally friendly and durable alternative to conventional drinkware.
Manufactured by the Anjaneya Bamboo Cluster in Baharagora, East Singhbhum district, the bamboo-steel bottles are designed to retain the temperature of hot and cold beverages for 12 to 14 hours. The mugs, made from bamboo, stainless steel and food-grade plastic lids, can maintain beverage temperatures for three to four hours. Visitors have praised the products for their attractive design, quality and practical utility.
Officials said platforms such as Bharat Tex 2026 are helping translate Jharkhand’s ‘Local to Global’ vision into reality by connecting the state’s traditioomnal products with international markets. Alongside bamboo innovations, the pavilion is also showcasing tasar silk, GI-tagged products, handloom textiles and handicrafts, highlighting the state’s diverse artisanal heritage.
The Anjaneya Bamboo Cluster has played a key role in giving Jharkhand’s bamboo craft a contemporary identity by blending traditional skills with advanced manufacturing techniques. In addition to decorative items, furniture and lifestyle products, the cluster uses laser cutting, laser engraving, CNC routing and customised design solutions to produce export-quality products that meet global standards.
With more than 6,000 international buyers from over 130 countries and over 1.3 lakh business visitors attending Bharat Tex 2026, officials believe the event offers a significant platform for Jharkhand’s MSMEs, artisans and entrepreneurs to expand into global markets, strengthen exports and attract fresh investment in the state’s handicraft sector.
