The Bokaro District Swimming Association has announced a 21-member team for the 16th Junior and Sub-Junior Jharkhand State Swimming Championship, to be held from July 24 to 26 at the Veer Budhu Bhagat Aquatic Stadium, Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar, Ranchi.
The squad was selected after competitive trials conducted at the Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro swimming pool on Sunday. Around 100 young swimmers from different schools participated in the selection, competing in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, individual medley, and relay events.
Association President and DPS Bokaro Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar said the final team comprises 13 boys and eight girls selected on the basis of their timings and performances. Rupesh Kumar has been appointed as the team coach. Dr. Gangwar expressed confidence that the swimmers would perform well and bring laurels to Bokaro at the state championship.
