Under the guidance of Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rajkamal Mishra, a Jail Court, Legal Awareness Camp, and Medical Health Camp were organized at the Lohardaga District Jail. The programme was attended by DLSA Secretary Manoranjan Kumar, LADCS Deputy Chief Narayan Sahu, Assistant Sudama Sahu, Bhupendra Kumar, officials of the jail administration, and a medical team from Sadar Hospital.
During the event, officials interacted with inmates, listened to their grievances, and initiated steps to address their legal and administrative concerns. The inmates were informed about their legal rights, free legal aid services, and the procedures for the early disposal of pending cases. Addressing the inmates, DLSA Secretary Manoranjan Kumar said that justice is equally accessible to every individual and every inmate has the fundamental right to a fair trial. He emphasized that the primary objective of the Jail Court is to facilitate speedy justice, assist in the timely disposal of pending cases, and enhance legal awareness among prisoners.
The officials also inspected the jail premises and reviewed the facilities being provided to inmates, including healthcare services, food quality, sanitation, and overall living conditions. Meanwhile, the medical team from Sadar Hospital conducted health check-ups of the inmates and created awareness about maintaining good health and hygiene. The initiative aimed to ensure both legal empowerment and the physical well-being of prisoners.
