Two airports in Jharkhand—Ranchi and Deoghar—have performed impressively in the customer satisfaction survey conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) between January and June 2026. Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport secured the third position nationwide, while Deoghar Airport ranked eighth. In 2025, Ranchi Airport had ranked fifth and Deoghar Airport ninth. In the current survey, Ranchi Airport scored 4.96 points, up from 4.95 points previously. Meanwhile, Deoghar Airport scored 4.91 points, compared to 4.94 points the previous year.
In the 2024 survey, neither airport had made it into the top 30; in December 2024, Ranchi Airport had scored 4.69 points and Deoghar Airport 4.30 points. The AAI conducts this survey twice a year, covering airports with an annual passenger throughput exceeding 3 million. This time, 63 airports across the country were included in the survey, which is based on a sampling methodology. Ranchi Airport surpassed airports such as Gwalior, Gaya, Kullu-Manali, Ayodhya, Hubli, Jammu, Agartala, Leh, and Jabalpur.
Udaipur and Aurangabad airports shared the top spot, each scoring 4.98 points. Madurai and Vijayawada airports ranked second (4.97 points); Bhopal, Vadodara, Jamnagar, and Ranchi airports ranked third (4.96 points); Gwalior and Gaya ranked fourth (4.95 points); Kullu-Manali and Ayodhya ranked fifth (4.94 points); Hubli, Jammu, and Agartala ranked sixth (4.93 points); Leh and Jabalpur ranked seventh (4.92 points); Deoghar and Rajahmundry ranked eighth (4.91 points); Kolhapur, Belagavi, Tuticorin, Prayagraj, and Shillong ranked ninth (4.89 points); and Bareilly, Jodhpur, Agra, and Visakhapatnam airports ranked tenth (4.88 points).
