The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall across most parts of Jharkhand for the next two days. Several areas are likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h.
The department has urged people to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the inclement weather. Today, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Chatra, and Latehar districts.
Heavy rainfall is also predicted for parts of Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Lohardaga, and Latehar on July 21. According to the Meteorological Department, a spell of light to moderate rain is likely to continue across most parts of the state between July 22 and July 25.
Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several parts of the state, while some locations experienced heavy downpours. The highest rainfall, measuring 76.8 mm, was recorded at Rajdah in Dhanbad. Additionally, rainfall of 67.2 mm in Hendegir, 67 mm in Nawadih, 65 mm in Jagannathpur (Chaibasa), 57.2 mm in Putki, and 48.8 mm in Rajdhanwar was recorded.
Ranchi experienced continuous rainfall for about two hours on Sunday afternoon. Heavy rain led to waterlogging in several areas, including Kanke Road, Kanke, Ratu Road, and Bariatu. Meanwhile, light rain was recorded in other parts of the city, including Main Road, Dhurwa, and Doranda.
Since June 1, rainfall recorded in the state includes 421.6 mm in Ranchi, 328.8 mm in Jamshedpur, 313.9 mm in Daltonganj, 358.9 mm in Chaibasa, and 242.4 mm in Bokaro. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainy spell is likely to continue across most parts of the state in the coming days. Five people lost their lives in lightning strikes and other incidents in Jharkhand on Sunday.
