A private security guard was shot dead in broad daylight outside the official residence of the Superintendent of Police (SP).
According to preliminary information, a district police personnel has been accused of opening fire on the private guard, who died on the spot after sustaining bullet injuries. Following the incident, police detained the accused personnel for questioning.
Police also seized a Ford Endeavour SUV parked near the location of the incident. The vehicle is reportedly linked to Rocky Yadav of Gaya, who is associated with Ramia Construction, a company engaged in the construction of the Chatra bypass. According to police sources, additional weapons were recovered from the vehicle. However, officials have not yet confirmed the number or type of weapons seized.
A forensic team has been called to collect evidence from the scene. Investigators are examining all possible angles to ascertain the sequence of events and the motive behind the firing.
Police officials have refrained from making any detailed statement, saying the investigation is at a preliminary stage. The identity of the deceased has also not been officially confirmed.
Authorities said further details regarding the circumstances leading to the firing and the findings of the investigation will be shared after a thorough inquiry. At present, the case remains under active investigation.
