Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress over its protest outside Lok Bhavan, describing the demonstration as “political drama” and accusing the party of exploiting youth issues for political gains.
Addressing the media, Sahu alleged that the Congress was attempting to divert attention from governance failures in Jharkhand, where it is part of the ruling alliance. He claimed that instead of raising concerns over alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), the Congress was staging protests on national issues.
Sahu questioned the Congress’s silence over alleged paper leaks, recruitment irregularities, and vacancies in government departments in Jharkhand. He also referred to the deaths of 19 aspirants during the excise constable recruitment physical test, alleging that the party had failed to raise its voice on issues directly affecting the state’s youth.
The BJP leader urged the Congress to clarify its stand on alleged examination irregularities in Jharkhand and explain the steps taken by the state government against those involved in paper leaks and recruitment scams. He alleged that repeated examination controversies had undermined the aspirations of thousands of job seekers.
Escalating his criticism, Sahu accused the Congress and other opposition parties of attempting to mislead young people for political purposes. He alleged that the opposition had failed to gain power through democratic means and was therefore resorting to protests to create unrest.
Reiterating the BJP’s support for the Narendra Modi-led government, Sahu said the Centre remained committed to safeguarding the interests of the country’s youth and did not require validation from the Congress.
