The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi inaugurated the 18th MBA (Executive) Programme for the 2026-28 Summer Batch, welcoming experienced working professionals from across the country. The two-year programme aims to enhance leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and managerial expertise among professionals seeking to advance their careers in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
Welcoming the participants, Prof. Manish Bansal, Chairperson of the MBA (Executive) Programme, described the course as a transformative learning experience rather than just an academic qualification. He said the curriculum has been designed to prepare professionals for senior leadership roles through the integration of Artificial Intelligence, experiential learning, industry engagement, global exposure, and immersive classroom pedagogy. He encouraged participants to actively engage in classroom discussions, learn from one another’s diverse professional experiences, apply classroom knowledge in their workplaces, and build lasting professional networks rooted in integrity.
The inaugural session featured self-introductions by participants, who shared their professional backgrounds and expectations from the programme. Distinguished alumni, including Boeing India Technical Lead Sumarani Sulibele Muniraju and Hindalco Industries General Manager Suman Maiti, spoke about how the Executive MBA strengthened their leadership, decision-making abilities, and career growth while helping them successfully balance academic and professional commitments.
Dean (Academics) Prof. Tanusree Dutta urged participants to maximise every learning opportunity and apply management knowledge responsibly to address real-world business challenges. Dean of Executive Education and Consulting, Prof. Amit Sachan, stressed the importance of collaborative learning, advising professionals to bring their experience into the classroom while leaving behind their egos.
Delivering the keynote address, Bharat Coking Coal Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal highlighted the importance of continuous learning in the Industry 4.0 era. He emphasised that future leaders must combine technical expertise with adaptability, collaborative problem-solving, and effective people management. The inaugural programme concluded with participants expressing enthusiasm for the academic journey ahead, reaffirming IIM Ranchi’s commitment to developing future-ready business leaders.
