The RJD has extended its support to the movement led by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP). Speaking at a press conference held at the party office, senior RJD Leader Gautam Sagar Rana stated that a movement even larger than the 1974 JP movement is about to unfold.
Rana noted that the 1974 movement had originated in a hostel in Gujarat. “Its impact spread to Bihar and subsequently across the entire country. The situation today is similar—in fact, the state of the nation is even worse. The future of the youth is being toyed with. Corruption plagues every competitive examination. Students are agitated. A movement bigger than the JP movement is imminent. The agitation that began in Delhi is spreading nationwide. This government must go,” he said.
The senior party Leader remarked that while the Prime Minister has termed the paper leak a “heinous sin,” democracy functions on public accountability and propriety, not merely on statements; therefore, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must resign immediately.
Rana emphasized the need for educational reform in the country. He warned the Centre to curb corruption and punish the guilty rather than attempting to weaken the movement. Speaking on the occasion,
During the press conference, RJD Spokesperson Kailash Yadav stated that the students’ mass movement would intensify. He remarked that the Prime Minister has become indifferent toward students—who represent the nation’s future—and has only woken up to the issue after 27 days.
Yadav clarified that the students’ mass movement is not driven by political demands but seeks the reform and overhaul of the country’s education system, alleging that the collapse of the education system is the result of a well-planned agenda by the BJP and the Sangh. Question papers were leaked approximately 152 times in 10 years! Despite this, the Modi Government never took the matter seriously, he added.
