The city is set to witness an exchange of ideas on climate action as TEDxBistupur Countdown 2026 will be held on August 1 at the Centre for Excellence. Organised under the global TED Countdown initiative, the event aims to bring together experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, environmentalists, researchers, artists and community leaders to discuss practical solutions for addressing climate change.
Centred on the theme “Flow Again,” the event seeks to promote dialogue on restoring the balance between human development and the natural environment. The programme will feature talks and discussions on a range of issues, including renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, water management, the circular economy and community-driven climate resilience.
According to the organisers, the conclave will serve as a platform for showcasing ideas that have the potential to create both local and global impact. The discussions are expected to highlight innovative approaches that encourage sustainable practices while demonstrating how grassroots initiatives can contribute to tackling the climate crisis.
Speaking ahead of the event, Gaurav Anand, Curator of TEDxBistupur, said climate change is no longer a distant concern but a reality affecting communities worldwide. He noted that meaningful solutions already exist within institutions, enterprises and local communities and stressed the importance of collaboration in transforming ideas into action. “Every meaningful change begins with an idea that inspires people to take the first step,” he said.
The organisers believe the event will bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public engagement by combining research-driven insights with compelling storytelling. Through interactive sessions and thought-provoking talks, TEDxBistupur Countdown aims to encourage students, professionals, industries, policymakers and citizens to become active participants in building a more sustainable future.
The event is expected to attract a diverse audience, including entrepreneurs, corporate social responsibility (CSR) leaders, academicians, environmental organisations, researchers and young professionals interested in sustainability and climate innovation. Proceedings will begin at 10 a.m. at the Centre for Excellence and continue throughout the day.
Over the years, TEDxBistupur has emerged as a platform for promoting ideas that challenge conventional thinking and inspire positive social change. With its Countdown edition, the organisation seeks to reinforce its commitment to advancing conversations on climate solutions that are innovative, inclusive and scalable.
