Sanjay Seth pays tribute to Kargil heroes at BJP Hqrs

Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Sunday paid homage to the martyrs of the Kargil War at a commemorative programme organised at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national headquarters to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Seth, the chief guest at the event, offered floral tributes to the fallen soldiers and lauded their courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation. He said the supreme sacrifice made by the brave soldiers in defence of the motherland would continue to inspire every Indian. “A grateful nation will always remain indebted to its brave sons. Their indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice will inspire future generations with the values of patriotism, duty and selfless service to the nation,” he said.

Highlighting the contribution of soldiers’ families, Seth said the valour displayed by the armed forces on the battlefield is equally supported by the sacrifice, resilience and encouragement of mothers and wives. “It is their values, blessings and unwavering support that give our soldiers the strength to dedicate everything for the country’s security,” he said.

During the programme, Seth, along with BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, felicitated Veer Naris and mothers of martyrs. Calling it an emotional and proud moment, he said honouring them was not merely a tribute to individuals but to the entire maternal strength of the country, whose husbands, sons, brothers and fathers have laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

The event was attended by several distinguished military veterans and dignitaries, including former Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor (Retd), former Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria (Retd), Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad president Lieutenant General V.K. Chaturvedi (Retd), Colonel V.N. Thapar, father of Vir Chakra (Posthumous) awardee Captain Vijayant Thapar, Kargil War veteran Lieutenant J.S. Nain, and other former servicemen.
