Satwik Patnaik, son of SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant’s Deputy General Manager (Coal Chemical Department) Suvendu Patnaik and BSNL Senior Divisional Engineer Itishree Sahu, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 40 and All Odisha Rank 1 in the prestigious NEET-UG 2026 examination.
Scoring 700 out of 720 marks with an impressive 99.997 percentile, Satwik is set to pursue MBBS at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
A brilliant all-round performer, Satwik scored 95% in Class X from Deepika English Medium School and 96% in Class XII from Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Hyderabad. He also secured AIR 1321 in JEE (Advanced) 2026, qualifying for IIT Delhi, but chose medicine over engineering.
Satwik has represented India at the Science Olympiad in Singapore and the Junior Astronomy Olympiad in Turkey. Crediting his parents for his success, he said his goal is to become not only an excellent doctor but also a compassionate human being.
