One of the 3 bike borne miscreants shot dead a private security guard at JMP complex in the town Daltonganj last night July 26.
The deceased has been identified as Vinod Pandey,50, of Nawa Bazar block in Palamu.
The occurrence is stated to be between 11 to 11.47 pm last night.
SDPO Sadar Rajesh Yadav said Pandey was shot at from a very close range in his temple. He fell dead on the spot.
Police are checking the CCTV camera footage.
“Police have got clues about the 3 miscreants. They won’t be free any more. They will be caught soon.” said the SDPO.
Police sources said the motive is revenge.
It’s traced to a July 15th night birthday bash in this JMP complex.
According to the SDPO Yadav “The birthday bash was of one Vishnu Ram. There were songs and dancing.”
Here a brawl erupted. It was for loud song and boisterous dancing.
Police officer said the manager of the JMP complex Sonu Singh hit Vishnu Ram with a chair who sustained head injury in this birthday celebration.
Sonu was arrested and jailed the next day following a criminal case lodged against him by Vishnu Ram said police.
“This last night shooting which took 1 life is a sequel to that brawl of the birthday bash” police believed so.
SDPO Yadav said”The miscreants were looking for the owner of this complex, first. When he was not found, the hapless security guard was gunned down.”
“One of the 3 miscreants befriended the security guard. He walked together for some steps when he quite abruptly shot at Pandey in his temple from a very close range” informed the SDPO Sadar.
Police said one miscreant had entered the complex only while 2 others were waiting outside.
The trio retreated by the bike they had come.
Police sources said the gunning down of the security guard was a terror tactic of the miscreants, born out of revenge for the ugly scenes in the birthday party.
Blood was right there on the mind of the miscreants and it was spilled over, said the police. They had come to kill and they killed one.
