Bokaro: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ajay Nath Jha, while addressing a press conference on Wednesday, highlighted the successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, describing it as an inclusive, transparent and participatory democratic exercise driven by teamwork, technology and public involvement.
The DC said the month-long campaign achieved 100% distribution and digitisation of Enumeration Forms across all four Assembly constituencies through the dedicated efforts of field teams, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and election officials. The DC added that eligible citizens who could not be covered during the exercise need not worry, as they can still apply for inclusion in the electoral roll through Form 6.
The DC said the primary objective of the exercise was to ensure a clean, updated and inclusive electoral roll. Extensive door-to-door verification, digital monitoring, continuous review and public awareness initiatives played a key role in the effective implementation of the campaign.
During the press conference, the DC appreciated the efforts of Bokaro’s administrative team and also commended the Deputy Commissioners of neighbouring districts and the trainee IAS officer for their coordination, exchange of best practices and commitment to the SIR exercise. The DC also acknowledged the constructive role played by the media and social media influencers in creating awareness and countering misinformation.
Senior district officials also addressed the press conference, briefing journalists on various operational aspects of the SIR exercise and responding to their queries. Among those present were DDC Shatabdi Majumdar, SDM Pranjal Dhanda, Trainee IAS Arvind Radhakrishnan, DPRO Ravi Kumar, APRO Avinash Kumar and other district officials.
