The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) has urged the Jharkhand government to immediately initiate dialogue with students and youth protesting against alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and other recruitment examinations.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party’s Jharkhand state secretary described the ongoing student movement against alleged corruption in recruitment exams, the cluster system, delays in scholarship distribution, and the deteriorating state of education as “justified and democratic.” The party said the government should engage with protesters instead of suppressing their voices.
The CPI(ML) demanded greater transparency in recruitment examinations, strict action against those responsible for alleged irregularities, withdrawal of the cluster system, prompt disbursal of pending scholarships, and immediate measures to improve the state’s education system.
The party also called for keeping education free from communal and ideological influence, alleging attempts to “saffronise” education policy. It urged the government to ensure that universities function independently in accordance with democratic and academic principles.
Reaffirming its support for the ongoing student movement, the CPI(ML) said it would continue to back what it described as the students’ legitimate demands. The party appealed to the state government to adopt dialogue, transparency and accountability instead of confrontation, and to address concerns related to the future of students and youth.
