BJP MPs from Jharkhand staged a protest at the Parliament complex in Delhi over alleged irregularities, paper leaks in recruitment exams, and issues concerning the state’s youth. During the demonstration, lawmakers raised slogans against the Hemant Soren-led state government and its alliance partner, the Congress party.
The protesters demanded complete transparency in the recruitment process, protection for the future of young job seekers, and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into all controversial recruitment exams conducted over the last six years.
BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu accused the Congress party of hypocrisy on youth issues. He stated that while Congress speaks vocalizing students’ rights in Delhi, it remains silent on the controversies surrounding the JPSC and JSSC-CGL exams in Jharkhand. He demanded that the Congress leadership visit Jharkhand to answer the youth’s questions directly.
During the protest, BJP leaders highlighted the tragic deaths of 19 candidates during the physical endurance race for the Excise Constable recruitment. Sahu demanded that: Accountability be fixed for the tragedy. Fair compensation be granted to the families of the deceased. An impartial inquiry be conducted into the incident.
The BJP questioned the credibility of the state government’s probe agencies, alleging that the Soren administration is using the State CID to cover up recruitment scams. Citing previous inadequate investigations by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in other matters, the BJP reiterated that only a CBI inquiry can ensure an unbiased and thorough investigation into paper leak cases.
Apart from Sahu, the MPs who were present included Nishikant Dubey, B. D. Ram, Bidyut Baran Mahato, Dr. Pradeep Verma, Kalicharan Singh, Dhullu Mahto, and Manish Jaiswal.
