Where to Report Cyber Fraud and Hacked Accounts
If you suspect that your WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram account has been compromised, immediate reporting can significantly improve the chances of account recovery and help prevent further financial fraud. Victims should first contact the National Cyber Crime Helpline by dialing 1930, the Government of India’s dedicated emergency helpline for cyber financial frauds. Complaints should also be registered without delay on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in, where citizens can report online financial fraud, social media account hacking, identity theft, phishing, and other cyber offences. Early reporting enables law enforcement agencies to coordinate with banks, telecom operators, and digital platforms to freeze fraudulent transactions and initiate investigation.
