A special Abua Caste-Residence Certificate Campaign camp was inaugurated at Haroraydih Panchayat Bhawan in Masalia block of Dumka district on Saturday, marking the beginning of a drive aimed at providing essential government documents at the panchayat level.
The campaign, being conducted across the district, seeks to simplify access to caste and residential certificates and reduce the need for villagers to visit block and circle offices repeatedly. Officials said the initiative is intended to help citizens obtain documents required for scholarships, educational admissions, competitive examinations, and various government welfare schemes.
Under the programme, special camps will be organised in phases from June 6 to June 20 at designated locations in panchayats across the district. Residents have been encouraged to ensure that all eligible family members avail themselves of the facility.
During the camp, officials reviewed the process of application verification and stressed the need for transparency and timely disposal of applications. The Panchayat Secretariat and the Gyan Kendra functioning within its premises were also inspected. Directions were issued to maintain adequate educational resources and a conducive study environment for students and youth.
The visit also provided an opportunity for interaction with local residents, particularly women and elderly beneficiaries, on issues related to drinking water supply, ration distribution, and pension schemes. Villagers generally expressed satisfaction with the availability of these services.
At Masalia Block Office, officials reviewed the implementation of various development programmes, including public distribution, drinking water facilities, and agricultural schemes. Emphasis was laid on efficient service delivery, proper maintenance of records, and prompt resolution of public grievances to strengthen governance at the grassroots level.
