The Railway Mail Service (RMS) of the Department of Posts is offering a range of services for individuals, government and private institutions, and businesses, RMS Superintendent Premjit Kumar said at a press conference in Ranchi.
Kumar said the RMS has introduced a waterproof envelope priced at Rs 10 for Raksha Bandhan. The envelope is available at RMS post offices as well as post offices in rural areas, with the aim of making the traditional festival of Raksha Bandhan more convenient for customers.
He said the department is also providing Logistics Post services for the general public, government departments, private institutions and traders. Under the facility, bulk consignments can be transported from one city to another through trucks.
The RMS also offers doorstep booking services under which customers can avail themselves of a “Book Now, Pay Later” facility, Kumar said.
He added that RMS services are available round the clock, 24×7, to ensure uninterrupted postal and logistics support.
To ensure timely delivery of consignments to their destinations, RMS also utilises air cargo services of Air India and IndiGo, he said.
