BJP Jharkhand launched a state-level “Samrashta Sankalp Abhiyan” (Harmonious Resolve Campaign) at Carnival Banquet Hall to mark the 650th Birth Anniversary of Saint Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. As part of the campaign, sacred soil brought from Saint Ravidas Ji’s birthplace in Varanasi was placed in urns (Kalash) and dispatched in decorated chariots across all 30 organizational districts of Jharkhand.
The event was chaired by Kishun Das (President, BJP SC Morcha, Jharkhand) and conducted by Amar Kumar Bauri (State General Secretary). BJP State President Aditya Sahu, attending the Parliament session, sent a written message urging workers to carry the sacred Kalash with full devotion to every district, block, power center, and village.
Party members who traveled to Varanasi to bring the sacred soil were honored with ceremonial shawls (Angavastram). Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh announced that the urns will visit households and temples. The soil will be immersed on September 10, concluding with a grand convention in Ranchi on Magh Purnima.
Dushyant Kumar Gautam (National General Secretary, BJP – Chief Guest) highlighted that Saint Ravidas championed social harmony and equality 650 years ago, values later enshrined in the Indian Constitution. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to honoring national icons like Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Ahilyabai Holkar, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Reminded the audience of Saint Ravidas Ji’s unwavering devotion and courage when he resisted coercion to abandon his faith.
Urged unity against divisive forces, emphasizing the timeless philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) to eradicate social discrimination.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda stated that saints throughout history have guided India toward unity, likening Guru Ravidas’s teachings to a pure, unifying stream. Also speaking on the occasion, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda emphasized taking Saint Ravidas’s message of human dignity to the remotest villages to strengthen societal bonds.
