Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) organised a one-day training programme on “Statutory Provisions and Documentation in Contract Execution” for its officers at the Human Resource Learning and Development Department. Engineers-in-Charge and Planning Engineers from various departments participated in the programme.
The training aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of statutory compliance, contract management, quality documentation and transparent, rule-based execution of contracts. Technical sessions covered topics including judicious estimate preparation, tender procedures, tender banning guidelines, statutory provisions related to contract labour, Purchase/Contract Procedure (PCP), Delegation of Powers (DOP), and best practices in documentation.
BSL’s Vigilance Department also presented case studies highlighting common lapses in contract execution, emphasizing transparency, accountability, fairness and strict adherence to established procedures. Participants appreciated the programme, describing it as a valuable initiative for enhancing practical knowledge of contract management and statutory compliance.
