Chief Minister Hemant Soren has made a fresh appeal to students camping at Jaipal Singh Stadium for the past 14 days to end their protest who are demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services PT and other exams, alongside a CBI probe. The Chief Minister stated that the government is ready for talks, the committee formed for this purpose serves as a medium, and the government is eager to understand the students’ problems.
The Chief Minister stated that the government wishes to take the students’ aspirations from Jaipal Singh Stadium to the wider public, and students across the state can share their views and opinions on this matter. “Government is moving forward with the objective of addressing the students’ curiosity in alignment with a strong and major reform,” added Soren.
The Chief Minister fresh appeal assumes importance as CM Soren has earlier emphasized that his administration treats the recruitment row with “utmost seriousness and sensitivity,” stating that the government “has eyes and ears” and is committed to delivering justice to the youth.
Defending the ongoing state-led Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probe, Soren noted that raids have been conducted across multiple locations, multiple arrests have been made, and officials are thoroughly scrutinizing every allegation.
CM Soren had also met Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar to apprise him of the ongoing student agitations at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium and the steps being taken by the administration to ensure transparency.
Demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services PT and other exams along with a CBI investigation, students have been camping at Jaipal Singh Stadium in the capital Ranchi for the past 14 days. Due to this student agitation, Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Stadium has turned into Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
While the student protest continues on one side, the government’s initiative for dialogue has not yet reached any concrete conclusion. It is anticipated that talks with a delegation of the protesting students will take place by this evening. However, the ruling party has objected to the inclusion of a former Advocate General in the delegation, accusing the opposition of politicizing the movement. It remains to be seen what outcome emerges from this student protest.
