Authorities in Dumka have been directed to ensure that all pending formalities related to pre-matric scholarships are completed and financial assistance reaches every eligible student within the next two days, as part of efforts to strengthen welfare delivery and support uninterrupted education.
The directive was issued during a review meeting on welfare schemes and ongoing development projects, where officials assessed the progress of scholarships, residential schools, hostels, school repairs, smart classrooms, tribal art centres and rural health facilities.
Officials were asked to expedite incomplete construction works while maintaining quality standards and adhering to prescribed timelines. Completed buildings are to be formally handed over to the concerned departments without delay so that they can be put to public use.
Special emphasis was placed on facilities for students in residential schools. Authorities were instructed to ensure uninterrupted drinking water and other essential amenities on campuses. The functioning of smart classrooms was also reviewed, with education officials asked to ensure proper teacher availability, logistical support and effective use of the facilities for students.
The meeting also reviewed the utilisation of tribal art centres constructed in different blocks. Officials were directed to ensure that the centres do not remain unused and that local-level plans are prepared according to community requirements.
Progress under projects implemented under Article 275(1) of the Constitution was also assessed, with officials asked to submit updated status reports.
Officials failing to meet assigned performance targets were issued show-cause notices. Minor repairs in schools were prioritised to provide safe and conducive learning environments, while the functioning of the welfare department-run hospital in Kathikund was also reviewed to improve healthcare delivery.
