Special camps will be held at all polling stations in Deoghar on August 8 and 9 to facilitate the enrolment of new voters and enable families to have the names of their members registered at the same polling station as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The draft electoral rolls under the revision exercise were published on August 5. The campaign will now move into the claims and objections stage, with voters being encouraged to use the special camps to verify and update their details.
Gram Sabhas will also be organised at all polling stations across the state on August 15 to facilitate the submission of claims and objections. A second special camp for receiving claims and objections will be held on August 22 and 23.
The revision process will subsequently include ‘Home to Roll Verification’ from August 25 to September 4. During this exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit households to verify electoral roll details. By September 4, a ‘One Family – Together’ sticker will be affixed to houses covered under the family verification exercise.
Political parties and their representatives have been urged to cooperate with officials during the special campaign, claims and objections process and Gram Sabhas to ensure maximum participation of voters.
The exercise aims to prepare an accurate and inclusive electoral roll and ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the voting process.
