MGM Higher Secondary School, Sector IV-F, organised a two-level book review competition to encourage students to develop reading habits and enhance their interest in books.
Principal Father Dr Joshi Varghese said books are a student’s true friends, providing knowledge, positive thoughts and guidance. He said regular reading broadens students’ understanding of history, science and the world, besides improving their speaking and writing skills and boosting confidence.
Students first participated in a class-level reading competition, with the best performers qualifying for the final round. In the Classes IX-X category, Samriddhi Jha secured first place, followed by Reshma Parveen and Anshu Raj. In Class IX English book review, Aditya Singh stood first, Shahid Ansari and Akanksha Singh jointly second, and Saniksha Singh third.
In the Classes XI-XII English category, Tripti Jha, Yashvardhan and Aditi secured the first three positions respectively. Principal Father Dr Joshi Varghese presented prizes to the winners. Teachers Chanda Kumari, Prakash Chandra and Shweta Upadhyay contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
