A joint briefing of magistrates and police officers deputed for the Independence Day 2026 state-level function at Morabadi Ground was held on Thursday to ensure the safe, smooth and dignified conduct of the ceremony.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will unfurl the national flag at the state-level function in Morabadi Ground. During the briefing, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantari, Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan, Superintendent of Traffic Police Rakesh Singh and Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Dhananjay briefed the officials about their responsibilities and security arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all deputed magistrates and police personnel to remain fully aware of their assigned duties and locations and reach their respective deployment points well before the scheduled time. He also instructed officials to ensure a systematic and time-bound arrangement for the arrival and departure of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
SSP Rakesh Ranjan emphasised security at the venue and directed personnel to conduct checks of all visitors as per prescribed security protocols. He said special care must be taken to prevent unauthorised persons or objectionable materials from entering the venue. All personnel deployed for security duties were instructed to remain alert throughout the programme.
Traffic SP Rakesh Singh directed officials to ensure smooth traffic movement, strict adherence to designated routes and parking arrangements, and minimum inconvenience to the public during the ceremony.
As part of the security arrangements, drone-based photography and videography will be completely prohibited at Morabadi Ground during the Independence Day function. Only drones authorised and operated by the Information and Public Relations Department will be permitted to carry out aerial photography and videography.
The district administration said all necessary preparations and security arrangements are being put in place to ensure that the Independence Day celebrations are conducted in a safe, orderly and dignified manner.
Also, a full-dress rehearsal was conducted on Wednesday for the state-level ceremony scheduled to be held at Morhabadi Ground on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.
Under the supervision of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Ranjan, the rehearsal precisely replicated all the formal activities planned for Independence Day. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hoist the national flag at this ceremony in Morhabadi.
