As many as 28 Quality Circle teams from different departments of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) showcased their innovative improvement initiatives and problem-solving capabilities at the Director-in-Charge Quality Circle Trophy 2026.
The competition was the second in the series of plant-level Quality Circle contests organised at BSL. The participating teams presented their projects before the jury, highlighting workplace issues identified by them, root-cause analysis and the implementation of effective and sustainable solutions.
The presentations reflected the employees’ focus on continuous improvement and their ability to identify opportunities for enhancing processes and workplace practices. The teams also participated enthusiastically in the model competition, showcasing improved processes and initiatives developed through their Quality Circle activities.
The Director-in-Charge Quality Circle Trophy also provides a platform for teams to progress to higher-level Quality Circle competitions. Teams securing the Gold Award will represent BSL at the Chhattisgarh Council of Quality Circles (CCQC). Based on their performance at subsequent levels, they may further get an opportunity to represent BSL at prestigious competitions such as the National Convention on Quality Concepts (NCQC) and International Quality Circle Convention (IQCC).
