The Department of Mass Communication at Karim City College, Sakchi, organised a special photography walk on Wednesday to mark World Photography Day, offering students an opportunity to explore the technical and creative dimensions of the art of photography through hands-on learning.
The event was aimed at familiarising students with different photography techniques, creative perspectives and the practical aspects involved in capturing compelling images.
During the photography walk, students were introduced to key elements of photography, including composition, the use of light and shadow, camera angles, framing, subject selection and the art of capturing the perfect moment. The participants also took part in practical exercises, applying these techniques while photographing at different locations and in varied settings.
Faculty members and experts explained the importance of photography as both a technical skill and a creative medium. Students were told that photography goes beyond merely taking pictures and can serve as a powerful tool for presenting moments, emotions, events and stories through visual narratives. The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Neha Tiwari, Syed Sajid Parvez, Shahzeb Parvez, Taseer Shahid and Shazia Parveen.
Students from all semesters of the Mass Communication department participated enthusiastically in the photography walk. They experimented with different techniques and perspectives, making the World Photography Day celebration both an engaging learning experience and a memorable occasion.
