The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged question paper leak in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination has arrested two persons, identified as Somesh Prakash and Rahul.
According to the SIT, both accused were associated with the functioning of the Webel agency, which was entrusted with responsibilities related to the conduct and printing of question papers for the examination. Their alleged involvement in facilitating the leakage of the CGL question paper came to light during the investigation, officials said.
Following their arrest, the two accused are being subjected to detailed interrogation. Investigators are trying to establish how the question paper was leaked, who else was involved in the alleged network and whether any financial transactions took place in connection with the leak.
The arrests are considered significant as the accused were allegedly directly involved in handling work related to the examination through the agency. The SIT is now examining their links with other suspects and individuals associated with the examination process.
The JSSC-CGL examination came under scrutiny following allegations of irregularities and question paper leakage. The state government subsequently constituted the SIT to investigate the matter. The investigation has already brought several individuals associated with the examination process under the scanner.
Investigators are also examining the broader network involved in the alleged leak and are likely to take further action against other suspects if evidence emerges against them.
Officials said the investigation is continuing and that more arrests and disclosures cannot be ruled out as the SIT traces the complete chain behind the alleged paper leak.
