On Raksha Bandhan, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha extended greetings to residents and appealed to all brothers to pledge to protect, respect and ensure the safety of their sisters and women.
Jha said the festival is not only a celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters but also an opportunity to strengthen society’s commitment to women’s dignity, safety and respect. He urged men to act as responsible citizens and stand against any form of injustice, harassment or violence against women.
“Brothers will not remain silent. If any sister or woman faces injustice or feels unsafe, we will stand with her and, when necessary, inform the administration and police,” he said.
The DC emphasised that women’s safety is a collective responsibility of families, society and every citizen, and appealed to residents to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with love, respect and a resolve to build a safer society.
