Girls Empowerment Mission-2026 workshop concludes at PVUNL

Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) successfully concluded the Girls Empowerment Mission (GEM)-2026 workshop at Aaranya Guest House in a vibrant and dignified closing ceremony held on Wednesday.

The ceremony was graced by Rituraj, Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included A.K. Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer, PVUNL, Renu Sehgal, President, Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti, and internationally recognized football player Divyani Linda.

The programme commenced with a welcome song presented by the participating students. This was followed by a series of captivating cultural performances, including a skit, Rajasthani folk dance, yoga demonstrations, and other creative presentations. The confidence, talent, and expressive abilities displayed by the students impressed the guests and parents alike.

On the occasion, PVUNL, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Development (CD) initiatives, extended a sponsorship support of ₹2.40 lakh to football player Ms. Divyani Linda in recognition of her sporting achievements and to encourage her future endeavors.

A special film showcasing the journey of the Girls Empowerment Mission-2026 was also screened during the event. The film highlighted the participants’ learning experiences, personality development, and the remarkable growth in their confidence throughout the workshop. The presentation received wide appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Rituraj, lauded PVUNL’s efforts towards empowering young girls from rural communities. He described the Girls Empowerment Mission as a commendable initiative that is helping build confidence, skills, and aspirations among young girls. He appreciated the students for their outstanding performances and stated that PVUNL is contributing not only to power generation but also to the social development of the surrounding villages. He emphasized the need to continue such impactful initiatives in the future.

Speaking on the occasion, A.K. Sehgal, CEO, PVUNL, highlighted the significant transformation observed in the participants’ personalities, confidence levels, and leadership qualities through the GEM programme. He reiterated PVUNL’s commitment to empowering young girls through education, awareness, and skill development, enabling them to become self-reliant and confident individuals. He also expressed his gratitude to the parents, schools, and all supporting organizations for their valuable cooperation in making the programme a success.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of a large number of parents, PVUNL officials and employees, and members of the Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementos to all participating students, marking the successful completion of the Girls Empowerment Mission (GEM)-2026.
