Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Wednesday inaugurated the Basketball Training Centre at DPS Chas, saying sports are the strongest platform for building discipline, teamwork, confidence and character.
Addressing students, players and teachers, he said true identity on the field comes from performance, dedication and discipline, not social background. He urged students to embrace challenges with patience, resilience and a positive mindset, adding that continuous self-improvement is the key to success. He also encouraged teachers to value students’ effort and discipline alongside academic achievements.
Referring to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to all eligible citizens aged 18 years and above who are yet to be enrolled to submit Form-6 and get their names included in the electoral roll by September 4, 2026. He also urged teachers to spread awareness among eligible students and their families.
Basketball Association President Satendra Narayan Singh, DPS Chas Principal Manisha Tiwari, teachers, players and students attended the programme.
