Following the completion of the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), as many as 43,61,987 names of voters in Jharkhand have been removed from the voter list according to the draft electoral rolls released by the Election Commission on Wednesday.
The data stated that these names have been identified under the ASDD category- Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate. The figures show that 7,63,903 votes have had died while the number of voters who have permanently shifted stands at 15,92,194. As many as 14,50,810 electors were absent or untraceable whereas 4,38,596 electors were already enrolled (duplicate or multiple entry).
Additionally, 1,16,484 is the number of electors who refused to sign the enumeration form or did not return the completed forms to their Booth Level Officers (BLO).
“The total of number of voters who have been removed from the draft roll stands at 43,61,987. If any eligible elector whose name existed in 2026 electoral roll and failed to submit enumeration form, they can still be added back in electoral rolls during the Claims and Objection period from August 5 to September 4 by submitting Form- 6 along with declaration form. For this a special camp is also being organised on August 8 and August 9 and again on August 22 and August 23 on all booths. The forms can be submitted online as well as in person to the BLOs”, said Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar.
According to information shared by the Official, the State had 2,64,63,236 registered voters before the SIR exercise began whereas upon completion of the enumeration process, the number of voters in the draft electoral roll now stands at 2,21,01249 which comprises 83.51 percent of the total registered voters whose enumeration forms have been collected and digitised. In this 1,12,06,755 are male voters, 1,08,94,234 are female voters and 260 are from the third gender.
