The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Karuna Nidhi Singh hoisted the National Flag on the premises of the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day celebrations. He paid respectful homage to all the freedom fighters who fought for independence and secured our freedom.
Speaking on the occasion, the DRM emphasized that Indian Railways is not only the lifeline of the nation but also a strong foundation for economic growth, social integration, and regional connectivity. He highlighted that Ranchi Railway Division continues to work diligently to provide passenger amenities, develop infrastructure, ensure safe and smooth train operations, and deliver superior services, thereby connecting Jharkhand’s industrial potential, natural resources, and cultural diversity with various parts of the country.
Highlighting the major achievements of Ranchi Division from January to July 2026, the DRM attributed this remarkable progress across various fields to the collective efforts, dedication, discipline, and strong teamwork of the division’s officers and employees.
The key achievements highlighted by the DRM includes Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: On July 17, 2026, the Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated 75 redeveloped stations across the country via video conferencing, which included Piska and Muri railway stations of Ranchi Division.
9 Efficiency Shields: Owing to tireless efforts, Ranchi Division bagged 9 prestigious General Manager Efficiency Shields, including Healthcare, Security, Punctuality, Track Machine Utilization, Best Kept Station (Ranchi), Electrical Services, Outstanding Recoveries, Model Colony (Koyal Colony jointly with Bandamunda), and Running Room (Muri jointly with Bokaro Steel City).
New Train Services: Launched new weekly express trains to fulfill long-pending passenger demands, including Anand Vihar Terminal–Purulia Express (via Ranchi), Dhanbad–Pottanur Express (via Ranchi), and Tirupati–Raxaul Express (via Ranchi).
Regularization of Special Trains: Converted Hatia–Durg–Hatia Special and Bhubaneswar–Dhanbad–Bhubaneswar Special into regular express trains.
Punctuality Excellence: Achieved an overall punctuality rate of 92.54% from January to July 2026 (a 4.36% improvement over last year) and secured 2nd position across Indian Railways in July 2026 with 95.78% punctuality. The Independence day unction was attended by railway officers and staff and their families.
