Strengthening the framework of inclusive education, the block resource center in Jarmundi organized a dedicated distribution drive on Friday under the umbrella of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. In collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), the initiative focused on delivering customized assistive devices tailored to the specific needs and nature of disability of each beneficiary child.
A total of 52 specially-abled students were identified and provided with vital support gear designed to enhance their mobility, learning capabilities, and independence. The distributed equipment featured tricycles, standard and CP wheelchairs, rollators, leg braces, hearing aids, and Teaching Learning Material (TLM) kits. The distribution brought visible joy and excitement among the students, marking a transformative step toward seamless school commutes and active, barrier-free classroom engagement.
The event saw active involvement from key education officials, including Block Education Extension Officer Eshwar Murmu, Assistant Programme Officer and IED In-charge Kumari Dolly, resource teachers Niranjan Mandal and Sunita Kumari, and block academic coordinator Rinku Kumari. Emphasizing the overarching goal of inclusive learning, the dignitaries highlighted that providing targeted support tools is crucial for instilling self-reliance and ensuring that physical challenges never obstruct a child’s academic journey. The programme concluded with local educators and officials reaffirming their dedication to maintaining a sensitive, highly supportive educational environment across the block.
