On the occasion of Independence Day, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in their addresses, laid special emphasis on youth, employment and fairness in competitive examinations.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressing the ongoing student agitation, assured the youth that respecting their hard work and providing justice to their talent is the government’s top priority. Acknowledging recent doubts surrounding competitive exams, Chief Minister Soren noted that paper leaks impact an entire generation’s trust emphasising that irregularities in other states do not lessen Jharkhand’s responsibility.
The CM affirmed that no corrupt network or mafia would be spared, promising unbiased investigations and strict legal action regardless of the offender’s influence. He said that beyond punitive action, the state is introducing comprehensive structural reforms. He said that reforms taken by the Government include—time bound annual examination calendar, transparent tech-secured examination system, timely release of answer keys and OMR sheets, multi-tiered accountability across the examination system.
Inviting students, teachers, experts, and parents to participate in reforming the examination process, the government launched the “Chatron Ki Baat – Chatron Ke Saath” (Talking to Students, Standing with Students) initiative.

The ceremonial parade featured 14 platoons, with a contingent from the Odisha Police serving as a special attraction. Prominent dignitaries in attendance included Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, DGP Tadasha Mishra, MLA Kalpana Soren, and several senior government officials.
Governor of Jharkhand, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, unfurled the national flag at the Police Line Ground in Dumka, the sub-capital of the state. In his address, the Governor highlighted secure and respectable employment as a vital foundation for youth and stated that providing opportunities in government services is the responsibility of the government, with continuous efforts being made in this direction.
Expressing concern over paper leaks, malpractices, and irregularities in competitive examinations, he urged the state government to conduct a thorough review of the examination system, take concrete steps to eliminate flaws, and ensure an effective mechanism to prevent unfair means.
Emphasizing that public trust is the greatest asset in a democracy, the Governor noted that good governance is defined by delivering benefits to eligible individuals on time, making administration accountable, and adopting a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He added that digital initiatives and technology are making government services simpler, transparent, and citizen-centric, alongside strict and continuous action against corruption.
