On the 80th Independence Day, Jharkhand Minority Welfare and Water Resources Minister Hafizul Hasan hoisted the national flag at the main ceremony at KKN Stadium in Deoghar. He congratulated residents, paid tributes to freedom fighters including Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Birsa Munda, Sidho-Kanhu, and others, and recalled Jharkhand’s formation on 15 November 2000.
The minister highlighted the state government’s focus on inclusive development through welfare schemes reaching the last person. He listed district achievements across departments, including teacher appointments and high matric pass percentage in education; land and scholarship distribution under welfare; free treatment and Ayushman cards in health; livelihood support via sakhi mandals and animal husbandry schemes; seed and irrigation support in agriculture; food security coverage; housing under PMAY and state schemes; road and irrigation works; and strong law-and-order management during Shravani Mela.
Outstanding officers, employees, school children and social workers were felicitated for excellent performance. Senior district officials including the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and others were present.
