A district-level one-day workshop and training programme on the effective implementation of the Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Yojana: Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) was organised at Ravindra Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj, Deputy Development Commissioner Arvind Kumar Lal, Additional Collector James Surin and block development officers jointly inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The workshop aimed to familiarise officials and field-level personnel with the objectives, provisions and implementation process of the scheme and ensure that its benefits reach eligible rural households in a transparent and time-bound manner.
Master trainers, including Project Officer Motiur Rahman, JE Sujit Kumar Mandal, DRP Anant Mandal and operator Sanat Kumar Mandal, briefed participants on planning, identification of local needs, prioritisation, convergence of schemes and creation of durable assets.
Lal stressed that water conservation and harvesting should receive the highest priority while preparing village-level plans, followed by livelihood promotion through agriculture, livestock, fodder production and activities aimed at increasing rural household incomes. He also emphasised the development of rural infrastructure and convergence among schemes such as MGNREGA, livelihood missions, water conservation and solid waste management.
He urged panchayats to strengthen their own-source revenue and prepare need-based and sustainable Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs).
Bhardwaj said the focus should be on quality and durable assets rather than increasing the number of schemes. She directed officials to avoid duplication of works and prepare integrated plans based on the overall needs of each panchayat.
She also stressed the need for training mukhiyas and panchayat representatives so that planning precedes implementation and available resources are utilised efficiently.
