A vibrant celebration of Sawan unfolded at Hotel Amrit Palace in Lohardaga as the Nari Samman Group hosted its annual Sawan Mahotsav bringing together a large number of women for an evening of cultural performances, entertainment, creativity and togetherness.The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a prayer, followed by the welcome and felicitation of the guests. The participating women were also welcomed with tilak. The celebrations then gained momentum with a series of colourful cultural performances, reflecting the festive spirit and traditional essence of Sawan. The entertainment segment featured several fun-filled games in which the women participated enthusiastically. Laughter, music and cheerful interactions created an atmosphere of celebration throughout the venue. The major highlights of the event were a special photo session featuring paan leaves and a fashion show with a ramp walk. The participants walked the ramp with confidence and elegance, showcasing their style and personality and earning appreciation from the audience. Nari Samman Group president Rachna Rai presented an impressive classical dance performance that received enthusiastic applause. She highlighted the significance of Sawan as a month associated with joy, enthusiasm and happiness. She said that such programmes enabled women to step away from their routine responsibilities for a while, spend quality time together and experience moments of happiness and relaxation. She added that the group organizes the Sawan Mahotsav every year to strengthen bonding among women and celebrate the festive spirit.
The programme was hosted by Anu Agrawal and Archana Sengupta. Archana Sengupta stated that Sawan represents devotion, faith, love, adornment and harmony. She emphasized that such celebrations provide women with a platform to showcase their talents while simultaneously encouraging the preservation of rich cultural traditions and heritage. The event was attended by Rachna Rai, Anu Agrawal, among others.
Rita Agrawal, Lakshmi Agrawal and Asha Gupta were present as guests. With its blend of traditional festivities, music, dance, games, photography and fashion, the Sawan Mahotsav provided the women with an opportunity to celebrate the season in a lively and memorable manner. The colourful decorations and enthusiastic participation added to the festive atmosphere, making the event a memorable celebration of friendship, culture and togetherness.
